Bug Aeva-Media-1.4w on 2.0 fresh install
Hi,

First of all sorry if I didn't post in the proper area, but is so hard to find how to create a topic.

I've installed SMF 2.0 fresh install, without errors and after I installed Aeva-Media-1.4w without any errors, but when I try to access the admin menu: About or Settings i get "blank pages" so is impossible to be from another mod because is the only mod that I've installed and is installed on a fresh 2.0 SMF.
I've try everything, I've uninstall aeva, drop sql tables, reinstall again, but the problem persist.

Can someone help me with this bug?

10x in advance!

Hi marius,

Although the installations were without errors is there anything in your error log which appears after you try to access Admin > Settings ?

Edit : see if this gives a clue...

It hasn't been deleted.

His post says:

"A little Google and a little paste and pray later and it worked.

memory_limit = 48M

I put that in the php.ini and the problem went away."

I've got to admit this forum is rather user unfriendly and hard to navigate thru...anyway I have a simple question.

I am using:
Aeva Media 1.4w
SMF 2.0.2
PortaMx 1.45

And for the life of me cant figure out how to create sub/sub categories in the media gallery for images. can someone point me in the right direction ?

Yay, so you're asking this question AGAIN instead of checking where you already asked it?

http://wedge.org/pub/plugins/7210/aeva-sub-sub-albums/ has the answer. It even had the answer barely 40 minutes after you posted.

Mind you, as per that thread, Aeva support is minimal any more after all the crap Nao went through with the SMF community (like, for example, the fact he's post banned over there and couldn't reply even if he wanted to)

Hello!

I can not seem to find the "create topic" or "new topic" button so I figured I'd asked here.

I've moved my forums a couple of times, and some of the Aeva Media files seem to have dissapeared when moving (the mgal_data folder for one, I don't know if anything else is missing). Now I've been trying to re-install Aeva Media, but when trying to uninstall or re-install, it loads and after a while I get a blank page.

It seems it takes a long time to install or re-install and that there is some sort of time out limit, and the page goes blank after that. I don't know how to fix this... my memory limit in php.ini is 128M - if anyone could help me it would be greatly appriciated.

Mostly because there is no proper support for Aeva these days, it is generally supported, and the people who can access the support board are generally only the people who are going to get any support at all...

What I can tell you is that it is almost certainly a time-out limit, and could be related to poor quality hosting, in which little is going to fix it other than better quality hosting - but there's no way to know without doing some investigation, and that investigation is something neither Nao nor myself really have the time to do, seeing how Aeva is unsupported and all.

Hello,

I am uncertain if my post is acceptable or not, I have installed the last up to date version of Media from SMF. Everything seems to be working awesome...a wonderful add on for sure. The only issue that I can't seem to configure is locally hosted video display size. I have played with all of the options in the admin, no problem with auto embedded, only locally hosted display of the video in the album page. It displays way to wide and big. I think that it is displaying the full size of the file and not resizing down to a smaller nicer size ie 600px wide instead of way bigger.

I am sorry if I posted in the wrong place, however I was unable to find a remedy on SMF, Wedge or on this site. Please help...I can't wait for WEDGE, it looks awesome.

Hello and sorry to hijack this thread a bit, but i couldn't seem to create a new topic. I have installed this Aeva-Media-1.4w on a fresh install of SMF 2.0.6. I read the instructions and carried out the edits and copied the files to root. I ran the installer and only two errors were highlighted. Test Failed saying that i had not edited the Index.php and the Profile.php. However when i checked the edits were present and correct. So i went ahead and installed the gallery and most of it works however when i click on profile i get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DOUBLE_ARROW in /home/*****/public_html/********/Sources/Profile.php on line 332

And if i click on a username i get the same white screen and error.

Can someone help me rectify this as i would like this feature on my site. Cheers and many thanks Johnny

Well you certainly copied the profile code to the wrong place. You should ask for support at sm.org because I'm not providing support for anything that isn't running on Wedge...

It is in private alpha for now. I hope to be able to release a public alpha or beta in the next couple of months.
You can also try Elkarte. It's modern, too, and is in public beta.
