Aeva Media 2.10 (Commercial version)
AeMe 2.x is deprecated. No official support is provided for it. The equivalent of AeMe 3.0 will be provided, for free, in Wedge 1.0.

What is Aeva Media 2.x?

Ah well, that is a good question, I'd like to thank myself for asking it.
As you probably know, Aeva Media is a fantastic (trust me, I know it! :P) gallery system for SMF forums. It is entirely free, but things happened, and it became impossible for me to keep maintaining it.
I announced that I would stop supporting and maintaining it, but then a few persons indicated that they would be willing to pay for the software if I were to keep maintaining it. After discussing the idea, I decided to go ahead and do it.

So, in simpler words, Aeva Media 2.x is the follow-up to Aeva Media 1.x, and it includes the Foxy! add-on directly inside the code (you no longer need to install it separately.)

Here's the link to purchase Aeva Media (make sure you have created an account at noisen.com first, and that you're logged in!), and then you can download it on this very board immediately after your purchase. Support is only available to customers.

Aeva Media 2.0
For SMF 1.1.x and 2.x platforms
---------------------------------------------------------

Created and developed by Nao [noisen.com]

Main Features

EVERYTHING
- It might seem obvious, but AeMe 2.x has all the features in AeMe 1.x... And adds the following:

USER PLAYLISTS
- Give membergroups the permission to create user playlists. Allowed users will be able to
create playlists by simply visiting any item page and clicking the Playlists drop menu and then
select "Add to Playlist". Organize your favorites easily and browse them like an album!

JAVASCRIPT+FLASH PLAYLISTS
- Show nice little Flash-powered playlists in these topics, or pretty much anywhere else,
based on user playlists or anything you want (one or more items, one or more albums...)
- Make your own Foxprog (http://fox.noisen.com) clone in a minute (or ten.) Visit the site
to see a demo of playlists applied to a music website. Remember you can also do this for
video or picture websites, the limit is your imagination!

LINKED TOPICS
- Create (or not) a linked notification topic automatically when adding/editing an album.
You can use this to close per-item comments and have everyone comment on albums instead,
or subscribe to topic notifications, or harness the power of other topic-related mods.
- A linked topic's first message will feature a Javascript+Flash playlist of its related album.
Any new item (or group of items, if you use Mass Upload) will also be added as a new message,
allowing to 'bump' the topic. Each time you create a new album, your preference for linked
topics will be remembered (i.e., the latest board you posted to will be selected by default,
or no album if you choose not to use the feature the previous time.) Whether you locked
the previous topic or not will also be remembered.

SMG BUTTON
- Add a SMG button to the post area, which opens a popup that will allow you to upload
an item and insert it into your message in as few clicks as possible on SMF2.

EXTERNAL PICTURE EMBEDDING WITH LOCAL THUMBNAIL & PREVIEW
- Embed pictures hosted on another server (Picasa, Photobucket, Imageshack, anything
you can think of). Thumbnails and previews will be created as needed, but the main files
themselves will always stay hosted remotely. For this to work as expected, the Aeva mod needs
to be installed, and it is advised to enable Aeva's "External embedding" feature as well.

RSS FEEDS
- All albums and items now offer RSS feeds to keep you updated for:
  * Latest items - user profiles, albums, album with children, or the entire gallery.
  * Latest comments - items, user profiles, albums, album with children, or the entire gallery.

What you can do with playlists

- Click on "Playlists" in the gallery homepage, and select "New Playlist".
- Enter a name, and a description. You're nearly done.
- Go to any item page in the gallery, and if you want to add it to your playlist, select
your playlist at the bottom of the page, and submit. You're done.
- After you've added a few items, just go to your playlist page (use the opportunity to see
how cool it looks), click on Modify, and you can re-order items inside the playlist.
- You can also click on the Comment button to add a personal comment that will show up below
the item in the public playlist. Please note that this comment will appear *below* existing
author comments for the item. Consider they're your chance to explain why you chose to add
that item to your playlist -- just like user lists on Amazon.
- And I'm done.

How to install

- If Aeva Media is already installed, don't forget to uninstall it before reinstalling it! You won't lose any data. (In fact, you'll never lose your data, unless you manually delete the files by FTP.)
- Go to your forum's admin area, upload the zip file through the Package manager, install it and follow the instructions.

License agreement (no crappy legal details, as usual with me.)

- If you did not purchase this software, please be honest and do it.
- You can modify the source code all you want.
- Whether you modify it or not -- you are NOT allowed to distribute it.
- If you are thinking of sharing the source code with someone, don't do it. It's not allowed.
- Please do not use this on multiple websites with a single licence. Ask me for authorization if
you are looking into doing it. I'm listening and I'm open. I like seeing what people do with my software.

Also, if you wish to use this software, you will be bound by the Aeva Media 2.x license agreement.
Please make sure to read it online at http://noisen.com/license-am2.php

re-upload pictures but did it in ASCII mode, rather than Binary.
! Random items in homepage are now shown as a filestack if requested.
! Fixed broken comments area when using code tags inside a comment.
! Fixed broken captions when using the SMG tag on a SSI page, if the caption

+ LINKED TOPICS
Create (or not) an associated notification topic automatically when adding/editing an album.
You can use this to disable per-item comments and force comments on albums instead,
or subscribe to topic notifications, or harness the power of other topic-related mods.
Any new item (or group of items, if you use Mass Upload) will bump the topic. Each time you
create a new album, the latest board you posted to will be selected by default, or no album

select "Add to Playlist". Organize your favorites easily and browse them like an album!

+ JAVASCRIPT+FLASH PLAYLISTS
Show nice little Flash-powered playlists in linked topics, or manually anywhere else,
based on user playlists or anything you want (one or more items, one or more albums...)
Again, visit Foxprog to see a demo of playlists applied to a music website.

+ Allowed disabling the gallery globally, and hiding the Media button from admins.
! Google Maps embeds were broken when added at the beginning of a message
! Fixed crashes on some servers when embedding pictures through MGalleryItem.php
! Fixed videos not properly embedding when shown through a box or album-type embed
! When showing an item more than once in a page, further occurrences would break.
! Replaced 'x' with the proper math sign for showing picture width/height
! Avoid double ampersands in embeds. They may work but they're unwanted.
! Avoid box shadows on generic icons, in case the website's custom CSS adds any.
! Fixed various Javascript bugs caused by the galurl variable not being defined.
* When showing search results as a playlist, show twice more results than usual.
* Don't show item's uploader in album pages, if it was uploaded by the album owner.
